ABSTRACT:

Coronavirus presents a unique challenge to the human species. As children suffer from trauma related to the pandemic, ACEs [Adverse Childhood Experience] research points to possible long term negative consequences of early trauma on child behavior, development, learning, mental health, and wellness. Music is an integral part of evidence-based Developmentally Appropriate Practices that can reduce stress, distress, dysregulation, and dysfunction related to trauma.

Trauma-Informed Responsiveness research informs practical strategies to support behavior, development, learning, and mental health of children across educational, therapeutic, home, and community settings. Music can serve as a bridge to promote positive outcomes of children impacted by trauma. Concepts like Neuroplasticity and Polyvagal Theory further inform strategies to resolve trauma.

Explore ways to present Coronavirus-Corrective messages through Music, Movement, and Human Connection. Discover strategies that open the door for deeper healing through Music to soothe Trauma-related, Developmental, Behavioral, Learning, Socioemotional, and Mental Health challenges of infants, children, and youth who have been negatively impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.
