For over a decade, Brett has devoted his energy to equipping and empowering young learners and their families, as well as the early educators who support them. As Central Georgia Technical College’s Assistant Director of Child Development Centers, he serves as project lead for federal and state grants and local initiatives that support student-parents in their educational journey to credentialing. His work was integral in the expansion of services at CGTC’s two on-campus childcare centers, including a pilot of childcare for students in evening classes. Copeland has a B.S. in Interrelated Special Education and a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology. He serves on the Georgia Association for the Education of Young Children Board of Directors, Georgia’s Quality Rated Advisory Committee and as a Quality Rated Ambassador for Bright from the Start: Georgia’s Department of Early Care and Learning, where he advocates for program assessment measures and funding policy that encourage equal access to quality early learning experiences for all young learners.
