Dr. Amy Kay

Child Development Lab at the McPhaul Center at University of Georgia
Athens, GA
Amy Kay has been the director of the Child Development Lab at the McPhaul Center for the past fifteen years.  She holds a doctorate in Language and Literacy Education and has experiences teaching at the preschool, elementary, and college levels.   Prior to her administrative position, she was a classroom teacher for thirteen years—three years with 2-year olds, five years with PreK, and five years with Kindergarten.  Each period of transition was planned for and thought through with many factors going into the decision to “make the next move”. She has found the same to be true in administration, especially during the recent months of planning for and implementing actions driven by the challenges of COVID.   Her desire to share with others and hear what their experiences have been is fueled by a hope to continue to grow stronger by working together.
